This journey through Ceylon packs in the best of culture and adventure in ten energetic days. Explore the ancient sites along the Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and discover the most famous of them all, the great architectures and monuments in ancient Sri Lanka . Embrace the culture and meet remarkable people as you sample some traditional fare with a Sri Lankan family in a local village. Feel the adventure in wild life at Yala or Wilpaththu , feel free for bird watching. Feed a buddy elephant at Pinnawala elephant orphanage, , but still manage to relax and watch life unfold as you sail the south coast sea .

Day plan

Day 1 NEGOMBO ­ Colombo

You are welcome to arrive in Katunayake at any time, as today is a designated arrival day with no planned activities. Our agent will meet you at the airport and will take you to the hotel.Please note that there will be an important welcome meeting this evening at our joining hotel. After learning more about our tour and plans for the following day, you are welcome to join our leader and your travelling companions for an optional dinner nearby. If you arrive early there are plenty of things to see and do in this amazing city. Enjoy a City Tour , Eat Some Kothu Rotti, Go For a Ride in a Trishaw, Eat Some Seafood on Mt Lavinia Beach, Play a Round of Golf at The Royal Colombo Golf Club . Day 2 Colombo ­ Dambulla ­  Sigiriya

Begin the day with one of the real highlights of any visit to Sri Lanka , a visit to the amazing Sri Lankan portrait Sigiriya. No matter how many photos or documentaries you have seen, your first glimpse of these marvels of the ancient architectures will take your breath away. As Girl from Ceylon I am  ready to provide you  qualified guide for your tour , your tour leader is able to expertly explain the facts and myths behind these three mammoth works of art. You will also visit the historical Dambulla cave temple which is  also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla   situated in the central part of the country.Dambulla cave temple  is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka.  Major attractions are spread over 5 caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to Lord Buddha and his life.
Time permitting there may be the chance to  take a elephant ride around the Sigiriya wewa or visit the fascinating Sigiriya  Museum with audio­visual show gives a  background of Sigiriya.  The model of the site as it is today provides a good orientation of the site and its vastness. Day 3 Sigiriya ­ Giritale ­Polonnaruwa

After Breakfast proceed on a tour to the following places Giritale and Polonnaruwa to see the history of the fist ancient civilization. Kings ruled the central plains of Sri Lanka from Polonnaruwa 800 years ago, when it was a thriving commercial and religious centre. The glories of that age can be found in archaeological treasures which give a pretty interesting experience if you really value the history.  In polonnaruwa you’ll able to find  archaeological park a delight to explore, with hundreds of ancient structures – tombs and temples, statues and stupas . You’ll get an idea of the ancient kingdom of Polonnaruwa by visiting Royal Citadel which are the ruins of the King’s palace,the Council Chamber and the Royal Bath. The Buddha images at the Gal Vihara or the Rock Temple are masterpieces of stone sculpture. Parakrama Samudra or the Sea of Parakrama is a giant man made irrigation reservoir.Polonnaruwa is rich with number of echo hotels which will give you the real Sri Lankan taste which you’ll never gonna forget for your life time. Day 4 /5  Polonnaruwa  ­ Kandy

Today we going to visit the Sri Lanka’s most celebrated cultural city Kandy where you find the taste of Sri Lanka with its pride. In Kandy there are thousands things to visit and do. As your travel planner Girl from Ceylonassured that we’ll make it possible for you to grab most of these experiences with a quite well planned scheduled as we have time restrictions.Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic or “Sri Dalada Maligawa” is the most important Buddhisttemple in Sri Lanka which is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of Buddha. Around this temple there are so many cultural stories and traditions were originated. The most famous “Esala Perahera” of Kandy is one of such event  which attracts the most of tourists eye.But it is a seasonal function therefore if you want to see this marvelous function please make sure you visit Sri Lanka in month of July. Otherwise you may miss the chance.So after visiting Dalada Maligawa you will get the chance to visit the following interesting places in Kandy.Kandy lake, Devals , Sri Dalada Museum ,Ceylon tea museum.

Day 6 Kandy ­ Nuwara Eliya

Nuwara Eliya is located in the heart of Sri Lankan hill country. This is the place where you gain the most famous Sri Lankan tea. We’ll make sure that you’ll taste some of them for your tea time.Sri Lanka is a blend of all seasons as you have visited the dry zone Polonnaruwa in previous day you’ll really be amazed with the climate of the Nuwara Eliya which some times have minus level centigrades. Misty glens is similar to the British climate, making the place a must to include in your travel itinerary. Today you can visit tea factories and based on the time we can go for Haputale adisham bungalow visit or Lipton Seat visit which would be kind of interesting places in Nuwara Eliya district.Also you get chance to visit some waterfalls there.

Day 7 Nuwara Eliya ­ Ella ­ Horton Plains

Ella is the place where you can enjoy the ecotourism up to maximum in Sri Lanka. Today highlights include the dramatic 880 metre drop at World’s End and the beautiful Baker’s Falls.If you prefer today you can rest whole the day or go for the adventurous sports in Ella adventure park.As Horton’s plains offers some excellent hikes in an unusual environment, characterized by forest patches, grasslands and some high-altitude vegetation you can decide whether you
want to visit it or not and we could alter the schedule based on your interest as it may be tired schedule for some of you. Here the highlights include the dramatic 880 metre drop at World’s End and the beautiful Baker’s Falls.

Day 8 Kithulgala ­Negombo ­ Colombo

Kitulgala is a  little town on the banks of the Kelani River . Here you can enjoy a water sports such as Whitewater rafting excursion. The rafting begins further upstream which winds down through lush forests, hills and sand bars, taking approximately 02 hrs and ends back at the Plantation Hotel. At the evening you will reach colombo city and there you’ll get your dinner and you can have night shopping in the city or can just visit the lovely night colombo.

Day 9 Colombo Departure

Today after having your breakfast you can have visit in busy bazaar area, Kovils, Temples, Independence square and taste some Sri Lankanschedule transfer to the airport for the departure.
